Description:
I need a powerful c# class library written for error reporting throughout an entire ASP.NET and C# web application.
I need the class library to:
A: Be able to send emails with all Session, Application, Request, Cookie, and other data when there is an application error. (500 error). This information should be sent in a manner similiar to it is seen in a Trace log.
B: Log to a text file.
C: Log warnings, errors, and information alerts to the event viewer.
The class should use static methods so that the object does not have to be instantiated.
The logging to a text file should permit a parameter that designates which text file. The directory that the files are saved in should be an configuration variable.
The class should also have a diagnostic method, that checks that the directory for logging has the correct permissions, and that the event viewer can be written to. The diagnostic method will report how to fix the problems, so that error logging can be done successfully.
In addition the library should use XML comments, so that documentation can be generated for the library.
Deliverables: 1) The deliverable will be a .cs file. And optionally, the solution/project file from visual studio.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
This needs to be written in C#, and should work from an asp.net page, OR from a .NET application.
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
Nov 22, 2002 EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
If you notice a violation, you can report it to: abuse@rentacoder.com.

This bid is for a C# Error Handling Class for an ASP.NET Website. I will provide All Related *.cs files and instructions on installion into the web site.
The Error Object will have three reporting paths.
1. SMPT EMail
2. System Event Log
3. Text Log File
The XML Configuration will be incorpated into the WEB.CONFIG file of each ASP Application that the Object is used in.
'Log warnings, errors, and information alerts to the event viewer.' Will go to the System Event Log.
if ASPNET or whatever you have as the default user for asp does not have permissions for the Log file, the System event log and the SMTP Server. I will generate new error log entries to the system that I do have permission to. (What do you want me to do if all three fail?)
The diagnostic method will have an XML file with a list of Errors and how to fix them. I will provide a Templete to use, But you will have to populate the file yourself.
