Description:
I wrote a little Flash program that is mostly done, but just has to be cleaned up. I'm not an expert at Flash programming, so I had some trouble fixing the loose ends and was hoping that someone can help me.

This is not your typical Flash program. It isn't a splashy presentation...rather it's a simple application used as a graphical front end to control data on the server. Communication with the server is in XML.

Here's what the program is supposed to do:
- An HTML page is generated containing the Flash program and a unique key that identifies a certain theatre floor map. (could this be a Flash PARAM?) I'll provide you with 3 test keys.
- Program reads in key, connects to specified server, and fetches the map that corresponds to this key. I'll give you the link to the server that it will connect to. This server returns an XML file which is parsed and converted to a theatre floor map.
- Theatre floor map is rendered as a color coded matrix. The cells within the matrix represent seats or stage.
- If the map is too large to be reasonably displayed (seat max width=8, seat max height=10), then a control bar is displayed at the bottom of the window with 4 buttons (Arrow, Hand, Zoom Out, Zoom In). Only one button may be depressed at a time (radio style).
- User can select seats (can we do a drag to select multiple?). Rollover on seats highlights seat. Clicking a seat changes the state of that seat and sends a message to the server indicating the "state" has changed. The server responds with a complete update of the status of the map which must be reflected in the displayed map.
- This is supposed to work in a multi-user environment, so we don't always know if a seat is available until the server says it is.

Deliverables:
Really, the only thing that I need help with is getting the buttons to display and do the right thing with the server when they are selected.

Buttons:
Arrow - Seats are selectable
Hand - Map can be panned if larger than the display area. Panning boundaries are the boundaries of the map.
Zoom In/Out - Map can be zoomed, centered on mouse click.

Message to the server:
- coord of seat that was selected and a request to change its state.
- server will respond with success or failure and the complete state of the map.
- if a failure has occured, a window is superimposed stating that there was an error and has an "OK" button.

I will provide:
- existing code
- a link to an xml reader/writer
- all graphics

Hi Sir!

I am an experienced Web Developer/Designer. I can do what you are in need of. I have developed a similar type of application in Flash MX to show the current state of the Employees in a multi floor building but I had not used the XMl for that but I had used Cold Fusion for this purpose and MS Access 2000 as the database. But as far as the XML is concerned then I have no problem working with it so no problem. If you want me to develop something just t show you my abilities then just send me the file and your requirements then I will create something to show you my abilities. I am waiting for your response.

Thanks
Asim Iqtidar
