Description:
This is a project to develop a plug-in for Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Acrobat Reader that will give the capability to measure distances in PDF files with relative scales set by the user. The function of the plug-in will be similar to that provided by the "Measure It" plug-in that is commercially available at:
http://www.traction-software.co.uk/pdfmeasureit/
There is also a free download evaluation on this site.
The plug-in that I have in mind would have a different user interface than this one, and would also allow for "snaps" such as are available in Autocad and other CAD software -- the cursor would automatically snap to an endpoint of a line, an intersection between two lines, the midpoint of a line, a perpendicular point to a first point, etc. as specified by the user. This snapping will apply only to vector graphics in the PDF file, not to text or raster images.
The snapping function will, I imagine, be the most difficult part of this project as it will require analyzing the actual vectors in the PDF file to determine where endpoints, intersections, etc. are.
Deliverables:
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.

Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.

This is what I was thinking about. There are several minor things I didn't have in mind: snapping to circle or arc; fraction or decimal precision setting; saving current settings. That's why I'll make new bid - 250$. By the way if you need installation package, prompting user for serial number and password, I'll charge you a little more for this. |
