Description:
I need a chat room with the following:
1.It has to be hosted on a w2k server.
2. i can pass the username to it via ASP
3. The user is put into a lobby where they are shown the rooms
4. The rooms are configurable (say about 5 rooms)
5. The users are shown how many users per room then can select a colour
6. the user enters a room, the list of all users is shown on one side
7. The user can private message other users or talk in the main room
8. The user can request additional information by clicking on the name and opening up a url(to be specified.)
9. The user can use a list of emoticons that we will supply to send instead of text.
10. The work needs to be done for Saturday 12th October
Deliverables:
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
windows 2k, clients ie4+ win9x

Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.

Hi:

This complete application (including login authentication, online status indicator, new message audio prompt, private message, online status change audio prompt, emoticon support) allows you to integrate a realtime chatroom into your .asp application without the need for applets.
Prevent multiple user logons on a single account !Tidy code and complete running
Login page now offers 'create an account' - Click this link to be taken to account creation screen, enter your details and press 'add' to have the account created then follow the login link and login using your new account details.
Once logged in, the 'edit account' link takes you to the 'edit account' where you can alter your account password, first name and email details. Pressing 'edit' commits these changes and returns you to the login screen where you can log back in with your updated account details.
Application now includes emoticon support and sound files, click on a graphic to paste the relevant text into the messaging box.
1: unzip the contents of the zip into the root of your hard drive...if you've done it correctly
you'll have a Drive:/inetpub/wwwroot/xmlChat subdirectory...
2: select the xmlChat directory, view it's properties, select security/permissions, find either
the 'IUSR_machinename' account and give it fill control access to the xmlChat subdirectory. This
is so the XMLDOM components when called from the asp page can read and write to the users.xml
file.
3: get a couple of instances of IE5+ open and point them at localhost/xmlchat/default.asp
4: login as webmaster/password or guest/guest or create your own account..
5: happy chatting...
This work is currently live on my network, and is being functionally improved. If I can be of service to you dont hesitate to post comments to WebCrawler by today evening IST and discuss your requirements as because I will be in a leave from tomorrow and will back on 15th.
