MOD Player - Win32 DLL

Description:
Mod Player DLL - Win32 DLL
The dll should have just a few functions to: play - pause - stop/abort and/or whatever functions you deem necessary. The dll should not take all cpu usage, and play well in the background.
The MOD originated on the Amiga system, but quickly gained popularity, and now, software packages are available on almost every platform to compose and play these files.
A MOD file is significant, as it is a totally self-contained music file with a reasonable file size. It was intended originally as a compact way of storing background music for games and demonstration programs, but it has since grown to become a favorite file format for online music exchange.

Hi,
I would be really interested in working on this project for you.
I have a lot of experience with working with DSPs and audio (having spent a lot of time writing winamp plugins and the like), and writing in assembler so I would be able to optimize the player to use a very low amount of CPU. I have worked with MMX instructions so I could write some MMX optimizations.
I have found some detailed documents on the format of the mod file and how to play them, so I should have no problem implementing a player in MSVC++ compiled to a .dll. I will use DirectSound to output the audio. I could include click removal and very accurate resampling and mixing in the player too.
Whenever I work on a project, I always make sure the results are as perfect as possible, and I always test fully. If a bug is found later on I will fix for free.
I would be very happy to work with you on this, I think I would really enjoy doing it, I like a challenge!
If you feel the bid is a bit high, let me know I'll see what I can do..
Regards, Martin |
