Description:
Here's what I need:
I have six pages which I want to pass-protect. Each page corresponds to a category, an area of the site (Area1, Area2, etc...). So, each page must have a unique login/pass, because it will correspond to the admin for that area of the site.
This should be database-generated, so the table should at the very least contain:
Username, Password, SiteArea
Which are self-explanatory. SiteArea is the site category.
If you must write it for Access, that is fine since there will only be six or so of these admins. In fact that is probably the quickest solution. Just tell me what I need to do to protect the .mdb file.
For this project, you can make six generic .ASP pages, with a category header in the body HTML("Category Title Goes Here" kinda thing) but make them pass-protected. I don't know how you do this, but you can either have each protected page have its own login page that redirects back to the destination category after successful login, OR do it another way. Whatever you do, I need it so that upon trying to access the protected "Category2" page, the user is prompted for a login and pass, which upon successful admission allows access ONLY to the "Category2" page, and NOT the "Category3" or any other pages. They are independent.
If you can make an additional page for changing the login/pass, like:
Enter old username/pass:
Enter new username/pass:
"SUBMIT" = message("Incorrect Pass") or ("Password Updated!")
That would be great also.
This shouldn't be too difficult. I've got lots more to do in the future.
Thanks in advance-
