Merge TWO ASCII Files. Record length is 80 characters per line. Number of records per files changes from week to week 2. The THIRD MERGED File is of the same format. HAVING RECORDS of 80 characters long 3. The application needs special controls that I can add latter. Like Header & Trailing records, and some calculations that are appended inside this records -HEADER & TRAILER. Renumbering of records in necessary once the files are merged! 4. I expect screens to select Input files, from any available drives, directories, 5. Select the same for the OUT PUT FILE. Validate that the output file does not exist... If so.. Ask for overwrite the file 6. Display contents of both files!!! To ensure we have selected the desired files 7. The Trailing record will have to have some data as to number of total lines in the file, Totals for specific amounts on different types of lines. ETC.. ETC I am looking for a prototype that I can modify as we go along with this new prototype What I do not want to do is start from scratch.
