Description:
I am looking to start a survivor pool for this season, just for some people in our neighborhood.
The budget for this is coming out of my pocket, so it isnt a heck of a lot.
Basically, I need the following:
- Allow users to register with the following: - Nick Name - Email - Password - Full Name - Phone Number
- Allow users to login to submit stats - Using their EMAIL - And their Password
Once they are logged in I would like the users to be able to have a few choices.
- Send In Picks - See Previous Picks - Download Stat Sheets (just displays links to two html docs)
While submitting their picks, they have a few things to fill in. These are chosen by drop down menu&'s. Te info from the drop down menus should be pulled from a table in the database.
While submitting picks the users have the following things to fill in. Also, the predetermined choices such as their Nick Name, Email, and Full Name should also be sent in so that the admin knows who the user is submitting the info!! Date would also be great =)
- Immunity Challenge (Which Tribe - there is only two choices) - Reward Challenge (Which Tribe - there is only two choices) - Vote Off Tribe 1 (Which member from Tribe 1 will be voted off) - Vote off Tribe 2 (Which member from Tribe 2 will be voted off) - Star Pick (Which of the above 4 choices do you star (as your favourite))
The reason there is 2 vote offs is because we do not know which tribe will have to do the voteoff. Next, all the choices should be numbered. This way we can do the “star” choice.
Once the user submits their picks, it is submitted into a database where the admin can see it, and where they can see it (under “Previous Picks”).
Here is how I was thinking the database structure would work… Easy and simple, I hope. *grin* .
Database Name: “survivor” (example)
Table Name:
“tribes” - this would contain the two tribes (each with an id obviously). So, there would be 2 records, each with a unique id (1 and 2 perhaps). This table would supply the “Immunity, and Reward Challenge” drop down menu&'s with the info needed for selection.

Deliverables: Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
Server runs Red Hat 7.2
Compatible on IE 3+ NS3+ in WIN 3.1 +
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
Aug 28, 2002 EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Special Conditions / Other:
”survivors” - this would contain the list of survivors playing the game. The table would have 3 fields: ID, TRIBEID, SURVIORNAME . The ID would be just to identify the record, TRIBEID would be to determine which tribe they are in (the tribeid is the ID of the tribe in the table “tribes”) and SURVIVORNAME obviously for their name…..
The last feature I wanted was the ability to turn on or off the “send in picks” feature. This would mean that I could turn off the “send in picks” feature during the show, etc.
The admin panel would not need to be anything fancy. Just 3 features. 1) List Users 2) View Picks ( the ones that are sent in by the users) 3) Turn on or off the send in picks feature
Its pretty simple in my head but it may not be so please do not quote me on it.
Should you need any more info I will gladly provide you with it.
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
If you notice a violation please help out the site and report it. Thanks for your help.

I would love to take that heck of a $40 from your pocket:) I can do it using PHP and I presume the database will be MySQL if you are using Linux. It seems very straight forward and a lot of fun. I will also upload to your web server if you want that. I think the Thai setting is going to be incredible.
I do have one condition however.....I never want to know who wins in the end as we get it several months after you do!:)
Best regards,
Trevor |
