Description:
Hello.
I need a simple modification of Net::SOCKS v0.03 at CPAN.
It currently has no timeout support like IO::Socket::INET;
I need someone to rip the timeout code from IO::Socket::INET and put it in Net::SOCKS. I don't want custom timeout routines, I want the exact timeout routines used in IO::Socket::INET;
The syntax for Net::SOCKS should then look like this...
use Net::SOCKS;
my $sock = new Net::SOCKS(
socks_port => 1080,
user_id => 'the_user',
user_password => 'the_password',
force_nonanonymous => 1,
protocol_version => 5,
timeout => 30
);
That timeout value is what needs to be added and not supported in the current Net::SOCKS. This update will be submitted to the author if he wishes to include it on CPAN. :)

Special Conditions / Other:
Any expert perl coder should be able to finish this within minutes. :) This project must be completed by August 25, 2002... the sooner the better of course. :)
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
