Description:
I am looking for an ActiveX control similar to BWMedia at http://www.binarywork.net/bwmedia.htm. The main differences that I need are Peak VU meter support that will work with any sound card and the ability to change the playback speed for all formats. It should support all the same formats, plus Audio CD. High quality internal playback system would be a definite plus instead of using the MCI, more so for MP3 than others, but more would, of course, be better. If you have a sample application with this present to demonstrate, it would be a definite decision-helper. Communication with the coder online by ICQ, MSN Messenger, or AIM would be a plus during the project. This should require only the one dependency. If QuickTime video support can be incorporated, please specify in your bid. It is not a requirement, but would be a great benefit. This project should support all common audio and video formats, the same as BWMedia.
Deliverables: Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in ActiveX form as well as complete source code of all work done.
Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
Win95/98/NT/2000/Me/XP
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:

Hi Chris,
I propose to use DirectX Technology for all multimedia file playbacks except QuickTime movies. Is that okay with you? The final product will be a all-in-one OCX control supporting all multimedia format you mentioned. Because the latest QuickTime movie uses a new compression method (SVQ3) from Sorenson and is not known to the public yet. So I will use QuickTime SDK for MOV file playback. Other file formats can be handled by using DirectShow interface. A DirectShow filter will be written for the Peak VU meter support.
For your users, they have to install the latest DirectX runtime files and Quicktime player.
The development time requires a month.
There are many advantages to use DirectX technologies for future: 1) Able to support DV inputs, video and/or sound overlay. 2) Able to incoroprate TV input with Closed Caption or DVD inputs/control. ...
I got few questions regarding the UV meter support such as how you want it to display?
Thanks, Calvin |
