Description:
This is not as easy as it seems, so read carefully and do not bid if you don't know you can pull it off.
I have an existing program written in Visual Basic which uses the Microsoft Multimedia Control (NOT the Windows Media Player component). This control is used to play audiowav files, and I am trying to add the mpegvideo playback functionality.
This is where I run into the problem. The video will play, and it will do so by popping up in a playback window which has the maximize button already disabled. Also, when the video starts, it does not remain the top window. It moves behind the program which opened it.
I need three things done here with on stipulation:
-The video must play full screen.
-The video must be stopped and the window closed when the user presses the "q" key.
-I would to solve the "not on top problem."
The stipulation is this:
There can be no method of user interface, except the pressing of the "q" key on the keyboard. No exit button, no pause or stop buttons, nothing like that. Just full screen video which stops at the press of the q.
The easier solution would be to use the Windows Media Player component, but that, I don't think, is a possibility. The MMControl code is already to intertwined into the complexity and functionality of this existing program that it would be too difficult to change. However, if you are able to figure this out in any way other than the one currently being attempted - including using the Windows Media Player or other component - while still meeting my requirements, go ahead and do so.
That brings me to the next point: maintaining the functionality of the existing program. The program is a jukebox program which runs on a standalone machine serving no other real purpose. That is the reason for the lack of user interface in certain areas. Also, the program montiors and displays such things as track length, time remaining, is a track playing?, is the track done?, etc. While some of these display factors are slightly less important during the video playback, they must be kept intact.
--ANOTHER UPDATE!--
Before I accept any bids, I need to know that you have a video playing full screen using the Multimedia control, and NOT NOT NOT the Windows Media Player component.

--UPDATE!--
When running the code I have attached, you should be using the DJ.vbp project file. VB will tell you there is a form missing. Just add MainScn.frm to fix that problem. Also, you will have to do some other things to get the program to work right.
You need to put the jukebox.mdb file into a folder 'C:\digijuke'. You also need to put any .mpg file into 'C:\ozi\' and name it '002.mpg'. You need a .wav file in 'C:\top50alb' and name it '5002.wav'. These are places where the program looks for files to play. This enables you to play one song and one video from the list which is loaded from the database in the program.
I hope you can follow that and figure things out. Sorry I didn't explain this right away.
I am slightly flexible on the deadline, but only slightly, as I need this rather quickly. However, if you get it done, say...tomorrow, BONUS!
