Pop Up Ad Blocker
This is the first of 10 local private projects I have that I don&'t have time to do (too busy doing RAC projects!) I&'m looking to find a coder or coders who can help out from time to time on my excess project work (all local clients). This first project is sort of a beta test to see how it works out.
I need a standalone program than lives in the system tray to monitor any newer browser (IE, Netscape, Opera, etc.) and prevent unsolicited popup ads from downloading. The program must be configurable (i.e. right-clicking the system tray icon) and must have features comparable to this:

Note - when bidding include a list of what browsers will be supported.
The program must provide statistics on the number and type of ads blocked. It must not prevent users from opening links in new windows but should have a configurable item to allow them to be alerted visibly and audibly that a new window will open.
This is to be coded in VB (well organized using standardized naming conventions) with meaningful comments and no third party controls - It must be fast and extremely low resource! (API use is fine)
Note: I don&'t want any solutions that periodically enumerate open windows and title bars, etc. - no timers; period!
I&'m flexible on the GUI as I&'ll probably redesign it anyways but if you come up with a really professional GUI then you&'ll be remembered come bonus time.
I don&'t need a help file but do want a 1-2 page text file that provides the highlights of the program&'s operation.
The deadline is 4 weeks from project acceptance. I expect updates every 2-3 days with full code to monitor progress.
I can and will supply some of the code if you need it; such as the system tray operation, etc. Please do not just copy free code from PSC or other sites - it must be your original code and free of any encumbrances that would prevent me from having a legal copyright to it.
The program must be developed in English - if you have difficulty with English let me know up front and we&'ll work something out ok?
This is a great opportunity, especially if you&'re new to RAC - I&'m looking to build a solid relationship with a skilled coder or coders.

Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
Windows 98/NT/ME/XP Including personal and professional versions.
IE, Netscape, Opera, Mosaic - all commercial browsers with versions released in the past 18 months.
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
Aug 1, 2002 EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Special Conditions / Other:
The project's must be completed no later than four weeks after acceptance.
The program must meet my definition of a Popup Ad Blocker.
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Also, if you wish I can create you a sample version before you even accept my bid.
It would be a virtual clone of AdSubtractor Plus - it would use the same mechanism - a proxy server.
