Description:
I produce CD ROM business cards and at present I use the mpeg 1 video format . I want to use mpeg4 because of it's ability to create better image at a reduced file size. The problem being that there’s no real standard of mpeg4 at the present. I capture and edit the original footage on a high end Pinnacle DC2000 and out put it as a Pinnacle AVI file. Now one of the problems is that many encoders don’t recognize the pinnacle avi because it’s a specially formatted mpeg2 avi. The best combination for working with this format I found so far is a program called VirtualDub using divx4 as the codec. The problem with this is, divx 4 and 5 codecs require the client to go through a confusing instillation process. We don’t want anything to be installed. I know this can be done because I have a working CD designed by a third party.
ENCODER 1. Has to be able to encode the best quality footage. (nearly DVD} 2. Up to ten minutes using 45 megabytes maximum file size. 3.Must be able to encode any avi or mpeg2 file.
PLAYER Player and movie are to be called using “Player.exe file name. avi or mp4” FUNCTIONALLITY 1.To be executed in full screen mode and use Esc to skip or end video clip. 2.Movie is always on top. 3.All plays from CD only. Nothing to be loaded onto clients machine. 4.All this should work on minimum Celeron 333 MHz running win 95 OSR2 or higher. 5.When movie is finished, exit player.
