Description:
I am looking for a java program that will allow me to display images in a slide show manner… I need to have a next and a previous button as well.. The catch to this program is the images need to be 1280 x 1024 in size. Also some kind of algorithm will need to be designed to preload a few images at a time so when the user clicks on the next or previous button they don&'t have to wait for the image to load… When the applet is initialized the user can wait up 35 seconds or so.. Please use a total of 60 to 80 test images at 1280 x 1024 to ensure that there are no memory problems…
a 30.00 bonus if you can get a compressed zlib image to be display... If you need info on zlib compresstion just ask..

hi there,
the program you need is very simple. but if you really need more 1024x768 images to be loaded simulateneosly, there could be some problems with the memory indeed.
I know that cause once I did an applet which plays mpegs and I wanted first to make it load all the frames and then only display them ... and at a certain frame I got outofmemory exception.
so .... if you can provide me some sample images, I will tell you how many can be loaded simultaneosly in the memory.
except that ... there will be no other problems and your program will be done in 2 hours.
also, I am 90% sure that I will be able to find a way to load zlib images.
I am a Java expert ... you could check my ratings : I was rated only 10 and I am on place 25 in rentacoder's coder top :)
trust me, you won't be dissapointed.
Victor
