Description:
Need help setting dual-boot Windows 2000
Specs:
2 physical hard drives, 30 GB each First hard disk is partitioned into two: Primary (C:) and Extended, Logical (G:) Second hard disk is partitioned into two: Primary (D:) and Extended, Logical (H:) Windows 2000 installed on C and D I can boot from either C or D
I have Partition Magic 6.0 installed.
Here is what my boot.ini file looks like: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINNT [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 XXX" /fastdetect multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 YYY" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When I reboot, it gives me a menu, I can choose XXX or YYY. Works ok. Here is what I want to do: When I select XXX, the first drive should be C drive. It is. However, when I select YYY, I want that partition to become C and the original C to either become D or not visible.
Basically, the drive that I boot from should be C, the other should become either D or invisible.
Please bid on this job if you know exactly how to solve the problem. I do not want to install any other software. I believe, it is a matter of changing the boot.ini file and/or making partitions visible and or active.
I need a specific set of instructions.
If you bid on this, you have to be available via email between 6 pm to 10 pm today (Saturday) or 6 am to 9 am tomorrow morning(Sunday), Pacific Time, US. (In case I need help, hopefully this will not be needed. We can also agree to other times. However, it has to be donr by Sunday evening).
I will be accepting the bid quickly.

This one is easy. You've got Win2K running on both boot drives. If you accept my bid, I'll give you my phone number. You call me and I'll talk you through the remaining steps. |
