Description:
I need a script, which will do the following:
1. Access the web page with any URL I chose, e.g: http://www.abc.com/n, where: n is any number (1, 2, 3, 4…10001,10002…etc). The script should have an interface where I can insert initial value for n and for URL (e.g: http://www.abcd.com/xyv/tscr/2309823, http://www.dtcfd.com/poaisd/poiasd/0982344 etc.)
2. Save the content of the web page as a text file with unique name to some default directory.
3. Access the web page with the address http://www.abc.com/n+k, where k is any number (1, 2, 3, 4…10001,10002…etc).
4. Save the content of the new web page as a text file with unique name to default directory.
5. Access the web page with the address http://www.abc.com/n+2k
6. Save the content of the new web page as a text file with unique name to default directory.
7. Access the web page with the address http://www.abc.com/n+3k
and so on.
Here is an example:
I need to scan URL: http://www.abc.com with n=246043 and k=1, so the script will do the following:
Open http://www.abc.com/246043, Save the content to some text file, open http://www.abc.com/246044, save the content to another text file, open http://www.abc.com/246044, save the content to another text file etc in the same default directory. The script should automatically scan all pages with provided algorithm (url, n and k) until I stop the script.
The main requirement for this script is scanning speed. It should scan web pages and save it to a file with maximum speed possible.
Thanks, gary

Hi Varstr.
I'm Ashley Harris, I'm one of the top 1% of all RentACoder coders, and I have a solution for you.
I've developed an early prototype, you describe a website in the form: 'http://www.hotmail.com/!!!n!!!.html', you set n to 1, and set k to 1. It'll save 'http://www.hotmail.com/1.html' to '1.html', 'http://www.hotmail.com/2.html' to '2.html', etc.
It goes as fast as your connection will allow, and can download multiple pages at a time.
for $20US, I will build a nice GUI, clean it up, but error checking code in there, and give you the app and source code.
I look forward to working with you.
Ashley |
