Description:
Hi, I am looking for a program that I can deploy as an agent to inform me of a new postings to a certain website. I would like the program to run every few minuts and return only entries that 1) were entered after the last run and 2) those that meet the criteria.
A manual search of the site requires me to pass about 6 or 7 parameters before I get the results back. I also have to visually filter the returned set to get the new listings. This is very time consuming and ineffective. I would like to automate the process. If someone can write a program which can accomplish this for me please let me know. I would like to be able to run the program on my PC. As an extra ( I am welling to pay extra for this feature) If I can be alerted once a new entry has been detected through email or a page to a pager.
To better understand what I am looking for, go to autotrader.com and try searching for 1996 Ford Crown Victoria, you will get a set back. Now if you do the same search an hour or a day later, you might get most of the set back if not all plus some new ones. I am interested in the new ones after the first run on a continouse basis. The program can be fully tested by the userand my self. I need to have a working copy of the software which will meet my requirments listed above. I will sum it up in ( a software that will work as an agent to find and inform me of a new entries into a certain website. ) everytime the program runs it should do a search on the website based on the parameters I will pass to it and filter the new entries from the last run. I would like the program to be flexible as far as how often it can be run. As an extra, I need a way to get alarted once a car or list of cars is found. The alert can be as simple as a small email or a text page saying " a new car was found". attached a file with the three pages of the website you need to look at:
first is the main
second is where I enter the criteria
third is the returned set Remeber, I don't want the program to return the whole set, ONLY the new ones since the last run.
Platform:
platform is PC , windows 95 and up and IE 5 and up.

Hello,
I have done similar work before and I know I can do a very good job here.
As of now I have this in mind. The program will run in the system tray and check the website every few minutes for a search term. You can set the time period and search term from a 'options' dialog. It will maintain a list of all the entries it finds. As soon as it finds a new one it can sound a beep or show a window. I can also add the feature to send a notification email to you (If you know your mobile/pager email address it can also send a mesage to it).
I am willing to add more features if required (like ability to perform multiple searches, perform searches within the entries downloaded, etc). I will finish the project in 2-3 weeks time (maybe less).
