Description:
I am have developed an application that is heavily reliant on Data Access for data input. The issue is that I have to use several (but seperate) databases for the several users of the app and do not want to use multiple data controls in my app as this will be too hard to maintain in the event that I want to upscale the app and of course this woul mean hard coding evertime I need to doo this.
So basically, I have to find a way to influence the database called by the app for input when the user enters their Id#. The table and fields in all the databases will have the same names but the string to connect to "the specific database" relating to the user is what I need a code to invoke at run-rime.
Simply put, the code must be able to invoke the recordsets one of several databases by defining it in code using one of the several data controls methods.
The ideal scenario will be that if User #1's ID is say 2842356, then "invoke the db (named user ID on C: drive" by changing the db in code.
I hope this is easily done or has ben done b4 as I need this project completed urgently.

Hi GIGO,
from what you are describing, this sounds like a straightforward code optimisation project.
I would be happy to do it. |
