Description:
The following project must be completed in Visual Basic and Access:
The MIS stands for Management of Information Systems and it is an organized set of people, procedures, databases, and devices used to provide routine information to managers and decision makers. Its role in the today&'s workplace is ever greater for a successful business execution.
In this project, you are assumed as a MIS support programmer at a bank. You are asked to develop an utility program that converts one database into another. For example, you might have a legacy database built on a mainframe and you need to convert it to MS Access 2000 so MIS staff may generate needed reports with more flexibility. Most of database conversion is done in two steps: first dump the existing db into ASCII format then read ASCII data into a new database.
In this particular bank you are working for has a legacy database built on Progress Database. I have worked on the ASCII dump part for you and it is available as “Rawdata.txt”. [I've attached this file as a zip file to this description] Now your job is to read it record by record and to convert them into a MS Access DB.
Write a program that reads each record and put it into a MS Access database called “CIF”. For formats and data specifications of each data field, first look at the ASCII file “Rawdata.txt” then design the DB based on your observation. Submit the source code and CIF.mdb.
Deliverables: Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
Complete copyrights to all work purchased.

Hi,
I have been programming with VB for over eight years now (the last three or so with VB6). I have done many access database programs. I can do what your bid request asks for long before your deadline of 5/4/02. The only question that I have is are you required to use an ADODC control or to use code only? I can do it either way although I prefer to use the code only method. Just let me know.
I look forward to working with you,
WayneWare Software
