Description:
Assignment: You have been asked by the personnel officer of your company to create a program that will have a list of personnel from which an individual can be selected and then certain information about that person will be displayed. She wants to be able to see the date of hire, whether the person is salaried or hourly and how many days of vacation the individual has accumulated. Create a program that will use a random access file. As the records are read from the file, the name should be placed in a sorted list and its relative number in the ItemData property. When the user selects the name from the list, the program should access the appropriate record in the file and display the rest of the data. The program must allow for the addition of records to the file and the deletion of records from it. Save the program as "Random Personnel".
Details: A) Create a record with the following fields: Employee Name, Date of Hire, Salary or Hourly, Days of Vacation and an ItemData. ItemData is the employee number (ID or FilePointer). You can also use a boolean field to indicate if the record is full or not.
B) Create the database of personnel. You can create one DB for the entire company or several BD's for each department within the company. Additionally, you could allow the user to name the file, or you could determine the name or you can provide a list of possible file names to choose from.
C) Open the database of personnel
D) Once the database is opened, as you read the data into the records, create a separate list of the Name of the employee and the number in the ItemData property. This will act as a menu for the user to select from. Then display this menu for the user to select from.
E) Allow the user the ability to add or delete a record.
F) Once we start adding and deleting records, you have to figure out another way to determine when you've reached the last record in the file. Empty records have new meaning now. You can't use an empty record to determine you've reached the last one.
G) ALL CODE MUST BE FULLY DOCUMENTED. Algorithm is required so that each step can be fully explained.
Deliverables: Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
Please fully document ALL CODE with algorithm explaining each step of the procedures including definitions of all variables.
Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
