When a computer is turned on, the authorized user will click an icon. This icon can be changed to any icon on the hard drive and be able to be put anywhere, in any folder or in any directory. When the icon is clicked after boot up, nothing should appear to happen. If the icon is not clicked after bootup (ie. a user that did not know that the icon should be clicked and therefore is not authorized to use the computer) then a text file is generated with the time and date of when the computer was turned on by the unauthorized user. When the authorized user boots the computer up and clicks the icon and if there has been unauthorized bootup then a text file with the time and date is displayed of the unauthorized boot up. If no unathorized boot up has taken place then clicking the icon does not appears to do anything. So when the computer is booted up a time/date stamp is stored. If the icon is clicked the stamp is deleted. If the icon is not clicked the stamp is not erased and will be displayed next time the icon is clicked. The text file should be appended and a running list of unauthorized boot ups should be kept, only the the times that the computer is booted by an authorized user will the time not be stored. The icon should be clicked within 1 minute after the desktop has appeared and boot up has finished, or it will be assumed that the computer was turned on by an unauthorized user. Just wanted to tell you that i have already finished around 40$ of the work. Actually, I Just opened VB after my last message and started developing it. Luckily, it is developing very successfully, thats y i got powered up and logged on to message you again :) What i have developed until yet. let me tell you: An application that starts up with windows and waits for the user to double click it once. The only thing left here is to keep track of text files which i will probably start after this message. i really wish to do this project for you. Also, i will tell you such measures which are very easy to implement and they will not allow the user to even start the windows until the user fulfills the requirements (e.g some password) and the bright point of this feature is that you will not have to perform any complicated operation. you will just need to copy the program anywhere in your PC. We can dicuss it in detail if you are willing. Actually, VB is my Favoutire and strongest field. I have worked very broadly on VB 6.0 and currently exploring .NET framework.
