Description:
A Simple Calculator Description and Requirements: You are to write an assembly language program (based on the instruction set of the Chapter 5 Basic Computer) to implement a 16-bit calculator that can perform addition or subtraction. Your program will be stored in a plain text file and should execute on the simulator that can be downloaded from the course web page. Submission will include a design document/diagram and a fully documented assembly program. The user input, via the INPR register, will be of the form Operand1“´-”²ª›Operand2= Example input sequences are: 2+4= 13-4= 23+132= 13-99= So, the only valid ASCII characters allowed for input are the decimal digits (0,1, … 9), the plus sign (+), the minus sign (-), and the equal sign (=). Furthermore, the input sequence must be a sequence one or more digits followed by the operation to be performed (+ or -) followed by another sequence of one or more digits followed by the equal sign. The input should be “echoed” to the output as it is entered so that the user can see what they are typing on the output message box of the simulator. If an input sequence is entered that does not satisfy the description above, then the program should output the following message: InputErr. Furthermore, if the values of the operands are too large to be stored in 16 bits, or if the resulting sum or difference results in an overflow, then the following output message should be displayed: Overflow. Assuming proper input, the sum or difference will of course be output to the right of the equal sign.
Deliverables: Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
