Description:
Diagram of financial relations between companies
We need a routine to represent graphically financial relations between companies
Attached is a typical sample of such relations and a database with the tables and fields to use to represent the relations between the companies
The interface can be inspired of MSAccess relationships form
Desired features:
- include either all or certain financial links only (button include all) - move around the companies, change the size of the box - double click or right click on a link to view and edit the information it contains - double click or right click on a rectangle to edit the content (need to add and store 1 textbox for comments in addition to the company name - the comment is specific for the diagram and hence cannot be saved in the C table) - links should automatically be redrawn when a rectangle has been moved. Oblique lines are not needed (horizontal and vertical lines are prefered) - save a diagram within the database (please create a new table) and open a new saved diagram - print the diagram using active report (very similar to crystal report) - nice looking and user friendly -eventually, the data will be stored in sqlserver, however, stored procedures are not an option - The diagram will unlikely contain more than 10-20 rectangles with companies
Output :
A program in VB that allows - to create or edit a diagram - add, remove, edit a company or a link - save a diagram for future use - print the diagram with reasonable resizing options (such as fit on one page)
Note : an activeX in C++ is quite acceptable, but please provide a VB demo to launch it. A 100% VB solution is also OK

I have been a professional programmer for over 20 years, and have done interactive graphics applications in Visual Basic, C++, and Delphi.
The attached program is a very simple prototype that I would use as a starting point for your application.
I see no problem implementing the feature list you have described, and getting it done before the deadline.

This is a followup to my previous bid, with another demo. Again this is a simple prototype and is only intended to show my approach to draggable & resizeable screen objects.
To create a link, click on either box to select it, then right click and select 'Add Link' from the popup menu. Then drag the link to the other box and click once. A link will be drawn that follows the two boxes wherever they are moved on the screen.
These boxes are implemented as a VB Class module, which can be extended to include all the behaviors your specification requires. The result is clean and reliable code with minimal development time.

I notice you have extended your bid request another month. Can you tell me (or post as an amendment on your project description) what you have found lacking in the bids received last month? Do you need a more detailed prototype, a written plan, or what? I previously sent the VB6 source for a simple example, to show in a general way how my program would look and interact with the user. I would update it if I knew what you are looking for.
