Description:
------------------------------ All bids that say, "We are a group programmers that can handle your project.. blah.. blah.." and don't show that you have read the attached file will be removed from consideration. ------------------------------
This project is for a "plug-in" to be used in conjunction with the software known as NeoBook. http://www.neosoftware.com/nbw.html
VC++/Delphi plug-in developer SDK is attached to this auction.
You will need the trial version of NeoBook that can be used for testing your plug-in: http://www.neosoftware.com/software/nbw40.zip
The plug-in will open any file type (usually an .exe) file and perform the following:
1. Basic Replace.
This looks for a specific string and replaces it.
Options: (a) Replace all occurrences. (b) Replace one occurrence. Occurrence number _x_.
2. Advanced Replace.
This looks for a marker and replaces the string with another.
Example: %%01%%This string will be replaced.%%01%%
The markers are given a number to identify them specifically. The plug-in would be told to find %%01%% and replace the content (between the beginning and ending marker) with the new string.
The "Advanced Replace" plug-in would also be able to display what is being stored in the specific marker number. (Stored into a variable.)
Example: Looking up marker number 05 would store the content of %%05%% into NeoBook variable [marker05], etc.
Both replace types can work with a queue sent to either replace function and will allow the plug-in to update NeoBook through a variable where it is in the queue. (Example: Replacing 2 of 6)
ALso, when performing any replace there will be an animation (such as the hourglass the rotates) to show that the plug-in is still working and the computer has not locked up.
*** This project is based around what can be done here: http://www.banneradmagic.com/howtobrand.htm
Attached to this auction is the C++ SDK information as well as the Delphi SDK. There also is an incomplete version of the plug-in created with Delphi, so the work is almost done already.
Feel free to ask questions and I'm open to ideas on how to better accomplish the final objectives.
** Not a difficult plug-in, please create a clean/logical interface.
** A demonstration that you understand how to work with NeoBook is required. I will need to see a sample of your plug-in work, since other programmers have said they can do it and have failed to "figure it out".
Deliverables: Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete "thoroughly documented" source code of all work done.
Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
Must work with NeoBook Version 4.0.9 (current version) or greater.
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
May 8, 2002 EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Special Conditions / Other:
I want to test the plug-in as the the project is worked on. I want to make sure it functions as I want it to and the interface is clear and nice looking.
Additional Files:
This bid request includes IMPORTANT additional attached files. Please download and read fully before bidding.
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
If you notice a violation please help out the site and report it. Thanks for your help.

I had a look at the attached source code and I can say that it has to be modified and completed a lot, but the work you ask for can be done without many problems. I'm mostly a Delphi programmer, so it's my job ;) |
