Description:
We need an Access 2000 Database to allow us to assign serial numbers, make labels, and track the serial numbers. Nothing too fancy.

Basically, I need the user to be able to select a part from a combo box, enter the month, the year, and a quantity. Then the DB should assign the serial number based on the month and year entered, store that in the “labels” table, and print the labels. (The Label Format is complete and is called rptProduct, and rptPackage.

The part list is called tblDesc, the users combo box should display the parts listed in the field :”Siemens Order Number”

The serial number is MNYRXXX , where MN is month (2 digits, 02 for Feb), 2 digits for Year, so 2002 is 02, and then sequential number starting at 1000 each month.

So for example if the user entered May 2002, qty 10, the serial number assigned should be 0502XXXX where XXXX is the next available number for 0502. Lets assume this is the first labels printed for 0502, so the labels would be 05021000 thru 05021010. Then the next user that selected 05/02 (regardless of the part number) would be 05021011, etc. Then when June comes around and they enter 06/02 the serial numbers should start at 06021000.

Attached is sample.mdb. Within the DB is a table called Labels. This is where the data should be stored. All of the fields are available from the table tblDesc.

Hello,

My name is John Morgan and I have a VB Application Developer for the past 6+ years and if you view my online resume, you will see that many of my projects listed have been utilizing MS Access.

I am currently at work and only have Access 97, but am eager to see your DB so I can see the data. If you could, please convert the DB to 97 so I can see it here, as I have worked on a similar project and can have this turned around for you by tomorrow. If you would rather not convert it, I will look at it and get it done for you tonight.

Thanks,
John M.

Hello again,

I actually have someone here at work that has Access 2000, so I will do the conversion myself and will guarantee completion by this evening (10pm est).
