Description:
Create some sort of a database that will help a small college administration in knowing about the students, teachers, and the courses. The administration should be able to find out which students are in which class, who is teaching that class, which classes are taught by a teacher, and so on. You are looking at creating a few text files and linking them through VB programming.
For example, you will have a text file for the students that will have 6 fields - Name, Student ID (S+4 digits like S1099, S3218, etc.), Course1, Course2, Course3, Course4. A students can take no more than 4 classes.
The teacher's text file will include Name, Teacher ID (T + 4 digits like T4451, T1555, etc.), Course1, Course2, and Course3. A teacher can teach up to 3 classes.
The course numbers will have 3 alphabets and 3 digits combined. Example: MIS334, MGT213, POM322, ACT442, etc..
On the main form, you will have three combo boxes - Student Name, Teacher Name, and Course. Selection of a student from a combo box will provide all the classes he/she is taking and the respective teachers. Similarly, the teacher's combo box will give all the classes taught by a teacher, and the course combo box will give all the students in a class.
There will be two data entry / modification forms - one for the student and one for the teacher.
Your submitted program must have the following required data:
At least 20 students, at least 6 Courses, and at least 3 teachers. Each student must be in at least two classes, each class must have at least one student and a teacher, and each teacher must teach at least two classes.
As mentioned earlier, you are not to use MS Access or any other database program.
In terms of programming, you will be manipulating 3 or more text files and using lots of If statements. Do not worry about making the program run efficiently (long way is fine.)
