Description:
Hello, I am looking for a coder to make a small web site. that can be expanded in the future, It would have the main page and some product pages almost like a web store type script, if anyone out here might have a good web store script and can install it, and or do some lay out of it., I would be looking for one that can be modified by myself who is inexperienced in this sorta thing. Thank you
Deliverables: Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
I would like to have this site be viewed thru all browsers.
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
Apr 20, 2002 EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
If you notice a violation please help out the site and report it. Thanks for your help.

5 Dollars. I'll do it for five dollars since doing it for free is against the rules.
All I really ask, is that if you are pleased with everything in the end, that you give me a smiling reference. Also, I will intend on using your website in my portfolio ( unless it is not suitable for that... ). Since I'm new to rentacoder.com, and I don't have a 'rating' yet, you understand why it's worth it or me to do this for free.
Just to start, I'll assure that during the design process, you can view your product as it is ongoing via a 'demo' site. This is a popular way of communicating needs and desires.
Your task can be done one of two ways. The key difference between the two methods will be that one way your pages are static, and the other way, they're dynamic. What does this mean? If your pages are generated from a 'database', or other outside factors (like say your bank's website...) then it's dynamic. Dynamic sites are typically easier to maintain and add too, also, you can interface with them through special 'Administrative' webpages built just for you. These pages would allow you to easily add/remove things from your site (like products), and change other content ( like their prices ). A site like this will require special 'CGI' scripting to be done, this normally costs $$$. I'll do it for five bucks.
A 'static' web page normally consists of pure HTML, and in order to make a change to a web page you have to edit the HTML for that page. (HTML is the language that makes webpages appear, it's basic but tedious and very redundant. ) If you had 5 pages that had your logo (for instance) and you decided you wanted to change the location of that logo - you would have to change the HTML in five different pages - this method becomes impossible on large web sites. Enough of the web lesson... in a nutshell what I'm saying is: Dynamic good, Static bad.
WHAT I NEED TO KNOW:
.:: TECHNICAL* ::.
Where is your site going to be hosted?
Is Perl or PHP(preferrably Perl) available to you on that host?
Is MySQL (database program) available to you on that host?
* If you are unable to answer these, or simply don't have a host picked out yet - that's OK. I can help you with that. Chances are we can get you one for free. But you get better service if you pay for one - and typically more functionality. I can recommend some hosts if you don't have one.
.:: YOUR NEEDS ::.
Do you want people to purchase through your website?
Do you need graphics done? ( Do you already have a logo and/or color scheme? )
Do you have an idea of a design you'd like, or a website you'd like to emulate?
What special idea's or needs do you have that you'd like to see addressed in your website design?
.:: WHAT I'D LIKE TO GIVE ::.
One Web Page Template
Allows you to add new pages under the same layout as other pages on your site. Also, you can change the look of all your pages by changing the single template. Ideal for any size website.
One Front Page
The 'welcome' page for your visitors (will use template)
A Product's Browser
Allows your users to conveniently browse through images and/or text description and/or prices of your products. User's could click on the products for details. (will use template)
A Contact Page
So user's could know how to order services/products
(will use template)
Administrative Page
So you could edit the content of your contact page and your welcome page, and also manage the products and their details. This page would be password protected.
(will not use template)
.:: THE SKINNY ::.
I can include some javascript that adds some 'bells and whistles' to your site, but a warning: it doesn't cross platforms well - most people end up regretting it due to maintenance issues. It's your call. Keep in mind it could always be added later.
By the time we are done, you'll have a fully functioning and maintainable web site that should impress your customers and assist you in generating revenue. In the future, should you desire add-ons or new functions - you could always contact me (assuming you were happy with my original performance ). Also, support for the pages would be available afterwards if you are having problems with your product.
Please contact me ASAP, as I have already begun working on your site - hopefully nobody else was able to beat 5 dollars.
