We need a database with a web interface where all fields can be searched by customers, returned and sorted in html. We also need an html interface where our employees can create records. We will need to add and retrieve records through text boxes and drop down boxes. Some sorting options will be required. I would like this to be set up with MySQL. PHP or perl may be the best compliment, I'm unsure. Both can be available. We are setting this up for one customer with many stores in order to verify that our contracted work with them has been completed. This will also serve a store surveying function for the customer. Imagine that we are working for a chain of grocery stores, installing lighting. We would need to reference a store number, square footage, address, city, state, zip, number of signs, amounts of lighting in various areas, lighting manufacturers with model numbers, special notes about the location, and a few yes or no questions. Some fields will be created and searched with drop down boxes, others with text input. We will also need to be able to upload as many pictures as required to show them some of these things. Both the input and retrieval areas will need to be password protected. Hopefully, this will be constructed in a manner where I can do this easily with .htaccess. Maybe another option. Deliverables: A database and two html interfaces like those mentioned above. Results need to be returned with some sorting. Some tweaking will be required based on the needs of our customer. The interfaces do not need to be fancy, but need to be functional. We will add the records through the interface. Special Conditions / Other: We are in a hurry to get this rolling, but not at the expense of quality. Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
