Description:
I need a simple function, which I will place in a bas module in my project, created using VB6, which creates an *.mdb file given the filename with ADOX 2.5. I do *not* want a class module, or any other type of wrapper module for the database, just a simle function CreateDatabase(ByVal vFilespec As String) As Boolean. I'll send you the *.mdb file upon acceptance of bid. This must be completed ASAP.
Addendum: The database file that the function must create consists of 9 tables with a total of 47 fields (which may change before acceptance), and the fields have various datatypes and properties, as well as descriptions.
When opened in Access, it must look exactly like the original that I will send you(except for column width's and things like that).
I am a freelance programmer myself and have a number of large projects. Sometimes (and increasingly more often), I don't have the time to worry about, or type these lengthy (and often redundant) functions. Therefore I am also looking for a professional coder to take on small projects (or just functions, or a module, etc.) at times.
Deliverables: Complete source code of all work done.
Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
"Visual Basic 6, ADOX 2.5"
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
Mar 11, 2002 6:00:00 PM EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Special Conditions / Other:
Must be completed by 6pm this evening, with no run-time errors. No comments or documentation are needed, just source code.
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
If you notice a violation please help out the site and report it. Thanks for your help.

Hello... my name is Ben Etten, a Visual Basic Programmer with 6 years experience privately consulting, and also working on a project by project basis for large companies. I am well versed in Visual Basic, VBA, SQL, Database Design, HTML, XML, ActiveX controls, and others. You can look at my resume to learn more about my qualifications, but above all else, I pride myself on the ability to deliver a professional solution that always meets or exceeds the client's expectations.
I would be more than happy to do this for you, and any other functions that you can dream up in the future would not be a problem either. However, if you are interested in my services on this project, accept my bid as soon as possible so that I can complete the code and get it back to you by this afternoon. If I hear from you shortly it would not be a problem.
Sincerely,
Ben Etten |

Hi... Ben Etten again. I have put together a quick demo of using the ADOX library to perform the create database to let you know that I am serious and that I can get this done by your deadline (in few hour short houts now).
The only thing I haven't done in here is descriptions on the fields, not sure how important that is too you, but I will keep looking to see if I can find out where they are stored. Not sure if I can do that or not...
Anyway, if you are interested, please respond as soon as possible. Once I get the database model from you, then I can make this function duplicate your database exactly.
Looking forward to hearing from you...
Ben Etten |
