Areas Of Expertise:
• Database driven websites Separate content from design. Makes a lot easier to change the look of the site if you feel like it. Makes the creation of new pages very easy and without a need of a programmer.
• .ASP programming I learn asp alone reading books, tutorials, participating in specific programming forums and of course coding. This is a server-side powerful programming language. I optimize the code to run fast, stress test to find bugs and comment all my (your) code, so it&'s easier to other coders to understand it and modify it. You won&'t be stuck with me if I code for you, but I&'m sure you will want my work again.
• Javascript This is a client-side language that may be used with ASP to add more functionality and speed.
• CCS and HTML The languages needed to make the basic design of a website
• Web Graphics I work with Photoshop and Fireworks mostly, but can do some good stuff with Flash too.
• Dynamic websites with integrated applications You can have different kinds of applications in your site, all of them integrated and with a secure on-line administration panel.
• Web marketing Long-term work to get good positions in search engines and high page ranks. This is no trivial job. Good Meta-tags won&'t make you popular anymore, and neither some “fast-and-easy” way to get you high ranked… most of these are discovered and your site gets penalized or life, this can “kill” a web site. I have many pages ranked very well (first results page, many in the top 5 spots) with very known keywords.
• Meta tag optimization for search engines and configurations of robots.txt This alone will not make your site the first in the search engines, but not having them will make it impossible. The robots file is very important to direct search engines spiders to what you want in their databases and keep sensitive data not crawled.
• Web host analysis Know and help I can help you find a suitable host for you needs, there are many awful host out there, some good but that charge too much or gives you a lot of things you won&'t use and some that are good and not expensive. Each website will have different needs based on a lot of variables. Find a good host can be difficult but save you a lot of money, I know and tested many of them for different purposes, I can help you.
• English and Portuguese. Natural Brazilian-Portuguese speaker, but with good English skills (I spent some months in US in 1998 in UC Berkeley Extension learning English) and have a good dictionary, English MS-Word to help out
• Web applications: Different things you can have in your site and that I have already coded before, other applications can be created as needed. All of them would have an administration panel to configure/add/edit whatever you want on-line.
1) Dynamic content The best thing you can have in a very dynamic site and content rich. You will be able to modify any page for grammar errors or updates on-line, you can even write in MS-Word and copy/paste to your site. It&'s a real time and money saver.
2) News / Clipping Get visitors coming back to your site everyday if you collect and re-publish your industry or area of work news, allow them to comment each of them or send a link of the news to friends. Build a searchable database of old news to your visitors. Can be used as a site-news too (or both)
3) News feed (RSS-publisher sites) - you became a publisher Allow other websites to publish your news/events with just a small javascript that they put in their pages, them get YOUR page opened when they click it.
4) Events advertiser Show your visitors what will be happening in your site area of interest with location, time and other information you think are important. You have complete power to show what you want for the time you want. Past events “disappear” automatically in the “next events” box, but can still be found in a search (if you want that)
5) Newsletters Allow your visitors to subscribe/unsubscribe your newsletter, that can be created on-line in the administration panel. Can be mixed with the events or news applications, so you can deliver daily news or week events to the ones that sign for that. Subscribers can choose when to receive your e-mails (everyday, only at Fridays, Mondays and Wednesday only…)
6) Polls Polemic issues are good - allow just one or multiple votes
7) Quiz Know better your users allowing you to fine tune your business path.
8) Forums Create an on-line community. I use a third party Forum because I know one really good with many functions, nice looking… what I do is integrate it into your site and intranet (for the administration), I usually include the license of it in my bids, if I didn&'t I would say so.
9) Membership/intranet systems with very good security Protect some (or all) of you site pages, making necessary to became a member to see it. Very good security, lost password tips or e-mailed to the member registered e-mail. Can have different levels of security.
10) Multi-Language applications All apps can be created by default in English and Portuguese. Plus, I can make a language file that can be translated to any language from the English original by any person with language skills, and you can redirect users to their specific language page on their browser too.

Resume:
My experience is with dynamic website programmed with ASP language and Access or MS-SQL databases.
I have a site posted on second position in google for a very known keyword and in the first results page for many others.
I have 3 years of web programming. Until now I just worked with creating intranets for small business, NGOs and some government sites too. I'm a 26 years old Brazilian (well... you already saw my English... it's not perfect) living in Rio de Janeiro.
I have a major degree in Economics and a master in Environmental Planning, but since I start to code this became my most important money-maker and what a like to do. Those may appear not important for a coder but a degree in economics and other in a engineering related area help a lot to design complex systems when they are needed.
I&'m a very responsible person and I&'m looking for the development of long-term relationships with my clients, I will always offer technical support for my code and deliver it in the deadline (If your deadline is not possible to meet by me I will make it clear in my bid) and maybe I code some more functions for free, It&'s just a matter of find out what more would be nice to have. I have a strict control of my working time, this is very important for anyone that works at home, and can guarantee that I wont accept more projects than I can handle, usually I do one at a time only with big projects.
It&'s easy to communicate with me as I have a broadband cable connection and a phone modem too (just in case something happens with the cable… nothing happened until now though). I do have all the instant messengers (ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo) but I leave them offline since they are very distracting programs. If you want to use one of them for chat I will go on-line in the time of the project is going. I will reply any message you sent to me fast, usually within a couple of hours, you can test messaging me from this site.
I sign up this site in June (2003) and I just started as a freelancer, right now looking for ratings and building my reputation here.
Take a look in my last project: http://www.conhecerparaconservar.org
It's mostly in Portuguese, only one page in English, but the site is 100% database-driven with many applications and fully administered from it&'s intranet.
Ask anything and I will be glad to reply.
