The software was utilized to program the unit&'s mode of operation and alarm options. At the end of configuration, a compilation routine is executed and a list of errors and warnings would be generated. If the program was error free, a source code for the meter would be generated with checksums for data integrity. Tools utilized : Visual Basic 6.0, MS-Access, ActiveX controls like TDB Grid, TDB Input, TDB List(Component one), Tree Control from Sheridan soft, ADODB etc. Wise Installer for distribution. Project 3 Messenger. A TCP/IP socket based program like the yahoo messenger was created to compliment IS infrastructure. The socket based program was used in conjunction with data loggers. The loggers would upload the demand consumption / physical conditions of the facility to the strong data backbone of the company. Based on the conditions and the alarm threshold set by the user a message would be shot out to the client. The program had the ability to monitor a cluster of sites and report data individually through text messages or a graphical trend.
