| | | Hi Folks, If you are a Visual Basic programmer, I am almost sure that you are fond of icons. If you are tired of using those old icons, this application (with complete source code) is for you. It is a complete Icon Search application, which allows you to extract icons from executables and Icon libraries.
The story behind this application is interesting. One of the icon designers in my project team (I am presently working as the software manager of Time Technologies,Kerala,India) told me that it will be very helpfull if she can get an application for extracting already existing icons. She can then simply modify it or reuse it, instead of creating all icons from scratch. That is why I took few hours for writing this application.
Hey, one last thing to remember you. Kindly vote for me if this application can satisfy your ever increasing thirst for icons.

and astonishing response to Icon
Hunter. I would like to clear a point
here. Icon Hunter can extract icons
from Icon Libraries (*.icl) and Icon
Gallery Files (*.igf) too. I will soon
post one or two zips with tons of icons
as icon gallery files. Try making a
search for 'Icon Hunter' now, to get
the complete list of Icon Hunter

When I double click or select the icon
and choose enhanced view I get an
error
Run time error 5 invalid
procedure call and the debugger goes to
the
img.Move 0, 0, Me.ScaleWidth,
Me.ScaleHeight - sbMain.Height
line.
Anyone else have this problem?

event for frmBit as shown.

Suggestion:
Replace text.box where u
have *.exe
with combo box (give it the
same name
as current textbox)
having
in list property:
*.exe,*.dll,*.scr
and
*.exe;*.dll;*.scr
I did that ,
its great.

For some reason the scaleheight
property of frmbit gets wiped out
sometimes in the form_resize event,
causing the previously mentioned
runtime error. To avoid this, declare
integer variables in the declaration
section of frmbit, one each for
scaleheight and scalewidth i.e.,
iScaleHeight and iScaleWidhth. In
Form_Load add this code:

Suggestions:
You gotta clear the
memory after writing each icon into the
list. This way you won't use up too
much mem. This is over come by storing
the icons in some place, (Picture box
etc...)
