The download feature can be enabled and
disabled by changing the value of
blnDownload in the dir.asp file. If you
are worried of people hacking your
site, using the download feature, the
download.asp file can be deleted. It is
not critical to the explorer's
operation.

variable to true, but it seems that

It might mean your server has given the
iis user list rights to the
directories, but not read access to the
files?

Hay Ben, thanks for the quick response.
I have one more issue. No matter what
the file size is, when it downloads is
is 323 bytes. The code looks perfect,
any suggestions? I am implementing a
search function to your code, I want to
be able to search a drive using
activeX. I would also like to see if I
can use actixeX to browse a network,
not mapped drives.

you shuold open the downloaded file
with a text editor. I'm guessing it's a
web page from the server, denying your
download.

Hi, Thanks for your Remote Explorer,
it's very efficient and very usefull. I
just want to report an error: it
happend when the explorer browse a
folder with a file without extension (a
file like "toto" made an error and not
"toto.gif"). The problem is located in
dir.asp but i couldn't find a fix.
Nevertheless thanks again for this nice
soft.

I found the bug causing the remote
explorer to error when a file has no .
in it, and it's been fixed.

Due to the upload method I chose, MS
XML DOM 3.0 and MDAC 2.5 must be
installed on both the client and server
side.
Since your server is 2k, I'm
assuming that it has these already, but
the machine your uploading from may
not.

Hey Ben, great work on the File
system. I haven't had any problems
using it . I did however want a way to
view files directly from the
application. Due to the limitations of
your javascript inline frame the only
solution was to add another frame. A
hovering DOM IFrame, and a file
intepreter. Basically all it does is
load the DOM IFrame Window and loads up
the file according to the file type.
Right now the modifications I have
done only allow IE5> and NS6> users to
actually use the view File
function.

default.asp,view.asp, and the 3 images
(close.gif,max.gif,restore.gif) if you
want to implement the same thing.

I have added this type of functionality
into the explorer. Now if the file is a
known media type (image, video,
shockwave, etc..) it will be displayed.
if the file is not a known media type
it will determine if the file is
editable. If it is, the edit window
will appear.
