The only question I have for you about
this great work is which (.tlb and/or
.dll) files to reference in my project?
I still get an error when I try to
access the dB. I have the 'MS ADO Ext.
2.6 for DLL and Security' checked under
project references. Is their something
else I have to do? Thanks in advance.

All you need is ADO and ADOX (standard
with ADO 2.3 an up). If you
protect/password your db, you'll have
to modify the code.
Send me (by
mail) the exact error (with line and
description) and I'll look for
it.

Good work Simon. Considered wrapping
this up in a class object? This could
make it more extensible, allow for
multiple user accounts and permission
levels, etc.
Extra points to you for
clean code.

Nice Work!
I have a few
suggestions:
Move the Mod & Del
Links to the beginning of each
row.
It does not handle OLE\Binary
Fields, maybe add code to ignore
these.
Does not handle Tables with
Spaces.
When listing data, memo
fields should get truncated so the list
fits the window.
I only give these
suggestions to help, normally that is
what people like, Nice work overall.

I'll update my code to
handle tables with space and ignore
OLE/Binary.
Moving Mod/Del to the
beginning change the code logic and can
be done if speed is not your priority.
I'll make some test and look the
difference.
Some people ask me to
display Memo entirely, some ask to
truncate them. I think it should be an
option if I add a technique to view the
record (without editing).

You need ADOX (eXtention of ADO), I do
not use Interdev, but I think it will
correct your problem.

You are the best ! You wrote the most
convenient code to manage access
databases online. Vous avez écrit l'un

The script is very light
and does everything that you want to do
with the database, I mean
add,modify,delete - just with your web
browser. You saved my life since when I
am on the road, it is sometimes
difficult to update my
databases.

One
suggestion, can you modify the login so
it requires windows authentication:
this will add increase security. I also
use siteman.asp and the made the same
modification.

I prefer using a
personalised authotification to send to
my team without giving the the windows
one. But you can change to code easy,
like in siteman.asp.

Excellent Work!
I have a few
suggestions:
1. Login to the
database with different privileges
(someone with permission for looking
the whole table, and the other with
restricted looking of the table)
2.
Reading the default values or Time(),
Date() from databases when ADD the new
records in to tables.

Maybe make a option so all security
within the script is turned off? That
way I can allow all my registered users
access to the script, and the NTFS ACL
will control the security.
