This simulates a tab control in pure DHTML, using cascading stylesheets and VBScript to do the job. Mind you the VBScript code can easily be changed to JavaScript. With this, you can develop your own web application without haveing to use an Active-X control.

This code is really cool I tried it and
it works really well. Don't worry about
the colors you can cchange everything
by specifying your own colors in the
stylesheet!

Everybody knows that Netscape stinks
when it comes to cross browser
compatability. Unfortunatley for those
of us that do this for a living we must
consider the "other" browser. Other
than that awesome app man. Keep up the
good work.

I have seen many tab-type pages that
use images or OCXs. This is a great
alternative with nice clean code. Great
Work!

I have played around with this code and
like all good tinkerers I want to
change it to get it to do some more
advanced stuff... like... and this is
my major stopping point... I want to
select a tab based upon the link chosen
by the user (say the click on cargo or
address). I can easily build a query
type url tabctrl.asp?tab=address and I
can pick that out but using the
vbscript select case I can never, ever
get the correct tab chosen... I guess
from reading these comments I need to
rewrite in javascript anyhow... anyone
willing to share that code with me?
Thanks!

This looks to be an excellent tool! I
can see from the other comments that it
has worked successfully for other
people. Unfortunately, when I try to
view this after download, I get a
VBScript runtime error "Object
required: "Tab Buttons" was not
handled. Does anyone know what I can
do? The code doesn't seem to be the
problem. :-)

Good work. However I can't seem to get
it to work. I am a novice so please
forgive my ignorance. I suspect that I
have to include the _tab.htm files in
the commented area within "<td>" tags
of IPT_TAB_CTL.htm. Is this correct and
How?
