Softshell Logi is a replacement for Explorer in windows.

-> Updated function´s to the Taskbar and
Taskbar-Buttons (no flicker).
-> New PopupMenus to the Startmenu that include:
Open, Rename, Move, Copy, Delete.
-> New PopupMenus to the Taskbar that include:
SLControl Settings, Start Screensaver, Swap,
Hide and Show the Desktop Icon´s when you
run with Explorer.
-> A System Tray Handler with working Popupmenu´s.
-> Quickstart the Screensaver from the Taskbar.
-> FormEffects: win2000, win98, Up, Down, Side.
-> The scrollfunction is updated (no flicker).
-> Transparent Taskbar (so far..).

Softshell Logi Features:
-> A Taskbar with full working, autosize (Taskbar-Buttons).
-> A Full working System Tray Handler.
-> A Startmenu with Programs, Favorites, Desktop
(instead for having a orginal desktop, I have it in the
Startmenu),My Documents, Find, Run, Control Devices,
Recycled and Shut-Down menu.
-> A Quickmenu that include all the shortcut´s and Dir´s
placed above Programs in the Explorer startmenu
and a Dir called Quickmenu where you can place your own
shortcut´s (it´s placed in the app.path).
-> A Shutdown menu that control the shutdown-time and all the
orginal option´s.
-> Easy access to all Windows options (like in Explorer).
-> All the Menu´s (Startmenu, Quickmenu) has a full working
Scroll function like the one in Explorer.
-> A Controlpanel called SLControl Panel where you can do a few
changes and setting´s like (changing color´s, the name on
the startbutton + more).
-> It can run under VB5 if you do some changes to the Modul
called modDevice1/ExtractFileName.
-> PopupMenu´s to the Taskbar and Startmenu.

-> The other stuff works fine with Windows 95/98 and ME but there
is some bugs left to fix to make it work properly in Win2k.

I cant figure out what
you have done wrong, becouse there
is´nt anything wrong with the
files.
First you have to copy the
amclabel.ocx to your system dir,
without this file there will be a lot
of errors.

The problem is if your using vb5 or
lower there are a few commands that are
restricted to vb6 and without
replacements won't work.

Shells are not something to make in VB,
or atleast not something to run.
Unfortunately, VB programs always have
the HUGE vbrun time file (something
like 1.5 mb) hogging up the memory.
They're also not that fast. If you're
just looking for interface, get
WindowsBlinds. If you're looking for
speed and less memory hogging, get
LiteStep, a C++ shell that's something
like 200k.

One giant leap for Softshell. The
problem? The interface still... well
stinks. Blue? It's hard to read, and
ugly. Lots of flicker, and taskbar
buttons that barely work (when you
click a button, it changes
position).<br><br>Try B2 instead
(search for B2)<br><br>Footnote: In all

ok.. whoever that was who said there
shell, named @Shell, was going to be
the best, I downloaded it and it's
horrible! They used way to many front
end ocx files which take up more memory
than just API.

Windows ME 128MB RAM, Followed
directions to the nail. Ran only when
compiled to P-Code then ate my system
resources down to nothing when loading
the documents. Other than that ran
good, good work I will be looking
forward to your next relice. Think in
the mean time I will try the previouse
one. And the blue I think was a little
to dark on my system. A color selecter
for it would be in order.

go to H#LL! this is a vb site and what
is released here can easily be
translated to c++ the point is to show
peeps how to do it! and another thing
the whole vb runtime is not loaded at
once you imbecile just the parts that
are needed.

Downloaded source code, downloaded
AMCLabel.ocx, opened project, errors
galore, mostly centering around the
AMCLabel control and not being a loaded
control class, but also several picture
boxes (start button most notably) were
complaining about invalid property
names. How to fix and test it out?

First you have to register the
component AMCLabel.ocx with
regsvr32.
Then you can run the shell,
note this shell have not been updated
for several years, it´s an old project,
but feal free to download it and get
some ideas to develop something new.....
