Description:
I'm looking for a very secure, internal registration scheme for a VB product. I know that nothing is 100% "uncrackable". However, I would like this to be secure enough that most crackers would not be able to do it and those would had the experience to crack it, perhaps it would take them too long to bother. I want to pass specific information to lock it to the user's computer, but not based on the hard disk. I should be based on the CPU so that the user's system can be formatted or crash, and the unlock code provided still work afterwards, but yet if they pass the code to someone else, it will not work on their computer. It will not have a username field. Only an unlock code. A key generator should be provided with source code as well. I would like to be able to communicate online (MSN Messenger, ICQ, or similar) with the coder during this project.
Deliverables: Complete and fully-functional working code in of the registration scheme, form to unlock a test program, and key generator.
Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
Win95/98/NT/2000/Me/XP
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
If you notice a violation please help out the site and report it. Thanks for your help.

Dear Chris,
I have three different methods that I use to obtain what you're looking for, two of the three do not have anything to do with the user's hard drive, username, computer name, etc. and rely specifically on the user's computer internally. A similar creation could be made for you which would include a 'padding' value that would allow you to decide if you're going to permit upgrading to the user's machine - such as a CPU replacement using a percentage base. (% of the difference of what the computer 'looked like' upon installation versus what the computer looks like today.
The KeyGen would be specific to you and your software and I would have to ask specific information from you which would be used to create the KeyGen.
As for communication while the project commences, I am reachable on MSN very easily and have other options available for you for contact.
Thank you for the time and I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
T. Rode - American Networks, Assoc. |
