Description:
Description: We currently use a Qbasic program to control a Pioneer Laserdisc v8000. The program loads in a text file which includes a list of segments or frame numbers to start and stop on. Each segment has a date to start and stop on (files are included below). What we need is the same program, written to control a Pioneer DVD v7400 the same way. The Pioneer DVD v7400 we would like to control is an industrial model designed to run 24/7. The DVD player is connected and controlled through a serial cable connected to a computer. The current system is a 386 DOS machine running a Qbasic dos program. The current program was designed to control the Pioneer v8000 Laserdisc player and works great. We now want to move to DVD and hopefully get out of Dos, but the current program will not control the Pioneer v7400 DVD player. We were even given a Laserdisc emulated DVD which was supposed to work with the current program, but it did not. Pioneer says the DVD is controlled a completely different way then the laserdisc, so I would assume you would have to know how the Pioneer v7400 is controlled, unless it is the same as the average DVD player. The links below have a lot of documents explaining the players, but I understand it is kind a hard without the actual player sitting in front of you. We have tried basic commands like op (door open), st (still frame), co (close door), ect from a qbasic test program (dos prompt) and they all control the DVD player, but I cannot tell the player to go to a frame or stop on another frame. We would be happy with a simple modification to our qbasic program (included below) or if possible, our goal is to have a rewritten program to run on NT 4.0/Win 2000. I found your new posting!
I've submitted this bid, based on our previous discussions on your other postings.
I believe I have everything that you need, it's just a matter of cleaning it up a bit and possibly adding other features that you might discover you need later.
Thanks for your time,
Lantz
