Description:
I have setup my Access 2000 MDB Application to use a MYSQL database via ODBC. The MDB is sitting on my file server and everything works fine from my computer. Though, when I tried to open it from another computer the tables would NOT be visible but only if I re-attached the tables for that computer. Once this was done, I was then NOT able to see the tables from my original computer.
Obviously I did not setup the ODBC correctly, and I have not run into clear step by step documentation describing the steps to accomplish it.
This consulting bid involves someone assisting me with a way to set my application up in order for it to work in a way that my applicatoin.mdb sits on the file server and any client computer within my network can run it without having to have a local copy of my application on each individual computer and re-attaching the tables manually for each client computer.
In other words, I need to setup my application in a multi-user environment.
Regards...
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
==============================================
I neet assistance in order to successfully accomplish my goal and get my system working in a multi-user environment. It might include code to programmatioally open the databases and attaching them, but must work from any computer in my network.
Platform:
A) The client computers are running on Windows 98 with Access 2000 with mysql ODBC Drivers, downloaded from www.mysql.org,
B) The database tables which contain the data to be reached via MYODBC are in a MYSQL database in a Linux Server, and
C) My applicaton (MDB file) resides on the network file server which is a Win2K Advanced Server.
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
