Description:
I have a VB6 Access 97 based program designed for distribution to as wide base of computers as possible and compiled using VB&'s Package and Deployment Wizard.
When installing the program I got the message:
“TITLE: [My Program Name] (Registered Version) Setup” “C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOC401.DLL” “An access violation occurred while copying the file” “ABORT / RETRY / IGNORE”
I pressed “Retry” and when that failed I pressed “Ignore”. I got a notice saying that my application may not run correctly without it. However the program worked fine without it.
I reassembled the program using PDW but removed SHDOC401.DLL from the file list. I reinstalled the program without SHDOC401.DLL and it worked fine on my computer.
My questions:
1. What would cause an access violation for SHDOC401.DLL during setup / install?
2. Why would PDW add a DLL that is not needed by the program?
3. Is there any situation where a user may actually need SHDOC401.DLL even though the program worked on my computer without it, or is it OK to leave it out permanently?
4. What does SHDOC401.DLL do anyway?
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
As many Windows variants as possible.
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:

Hello, for only $12 I will answer this 4 questions in a complete and detailed way.
To show you that I can answer this questions, I have answered for you the last question:
4. What does SHDOC401.DLL do anyway?
The shdoc DLL file is used to give access to the Internet Explorer browser directly in VB, and it is used in applications like popup stoppers, parental controls, etc.
I can complete the other answers and send you them in just a few minutes after I notice my bid is accepted.
If you have a few minutes, I would also like to ask
you to view my online coder resume and my past client comments, so you can know
more about my performance in their projects. If you have any questions don't
hesitate to contact me at your earliest convenience.
Best of luck in your project and thanks for taking the time to reading my bid.
Best Regards.
Abraham I.
