Description:
I run a UK based price comparison shopping website but all prices are updated manually. For the project I am only concerned about DVD prices but it will probably be adaptable for other products.
I would set up a MySQL database entry with the product code of a DVD from around 6 different shopping sites. I need a PHP script that can then look up prices for these products and store to DB, this would then be run daily to update current prices.
For example Godfather trilogy DVD, each shop is listed with product code and example URL
Amazon: B00005NFXJ http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005NFXJ/
WH Smith: PHE8128 http://www.whsmith.co.uk/WHS/Go.asp?isbn=PHE8128&DB=622&shop=26985
Woolworths: 11428264 http://www.woolworths.co.uk/common/product.jhtml?pid=11428264
Bensons World: 7000000064638 http://www.mrbensons.co.uk/rb/newdetail.asp?product=7000000064638
101CD: 802461 http://www.101cd.com/video/info.asp?id=802461
CD-WOW: 2678 http://www2.cd-wow.com/detail_results_2.php?product_code=2678
Pleae let me know if this is possible, how long it would take to write and the costs involved. If it's not possible for under $100 please still bid and let me know where the cost is involved.

Hi again,
So there should be a table with titles and their respective product ids for all the sites. The script should walk through the table when run, checking prices for all the titles and updating them if necessary?
It would take a day to code. Well, lets make it two to be safe.
Do you have the database already set up (and does that table containing product ids exist in it)? Do you need an 'admin' script that you can use for adding new titles?
I guess you realise, though, that in case any of the sites changes its page layout, the script may need to be updated.
Good luck, Ivan
