Description:
I already have a data extraction program created but it needs some modifications.
I will provide the program to coders based on feedback and bid amount. It has some confidential information contained in it so I will not release it to the masses.
Here is my idea,
Take the existing program and make the following modifications:
1-Take out the hard coding of the user name and password
2-Have the program access the website page with the price list and download the retail price list to the appropriate folder convert this text file to an excel file and clear the contents on every column except for "A" which will contain the item numbers
3-Automatically create the folders necessary on the desktop during installation so entering the path for the folders won't be required
4&5-Already Completed
5a- Menu items that allow only certain processes to be run instead of the entire program
6-Only delete the rows in excel that are discontinued AND out of stock
7-Make the extraction format in the columns as follows: item number(will already exist), item name, item description, the rest of the columns will follow the order that is on the page where the data is being extracted from
8-Create an access database to hold all this information
Have the program automatically update the access database upon completion
9-Have an about menu item with the copyright info and a help file that will assist a user in uning the program
10-Change the name of the program to SMC Inventory Database Creator
11-Have this program work on Win 98 and Excel 97+(MAybe some kind of detection during installation to check the installation of the required programs
12-Installer other than VB Bootstrap.
13-Create an attractive GUI that shows realtime stats of what the program is doing instead of showing the browser.
14- Program should download all the pictures from my server on first run.
Deliverables:
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.

Windows 98+ and Excel and Access 97+

Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Hi, I am new to RentACoder, but definately not to application development & debugging. I have been developing & debugging applications in various languages (including the language specified - VB) for over 10 years now - and most recently added .NET to my portfolio of languages.
