Description:
Similar to Windows NT task manager.
I want an SDI app that is tray-based. It uses a formview and has one list control allowing me to see all the processes... kind of like a single list control which combines the "applications" and the "processes" tab of the existing Task Manager in WinNT.
Features:
~ Ability to check a box for any of the items in the list
~ Ability to apply functions to checked processes. e.g. Hide from the list, mark as trusted
~ Ability to mark checked processes as flagged. Flagged processes have their own column in the listbox and are remembered between sessions.
~ Ability to "Kill checked processes"
~ Ability to "Check flagged" - causes flagged items to be checked
etc!
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:

I have a tool that is very similar to what you requested. In our main development project, we had a bunch of COM server modules, and in the event that the main app crushed, we had to take all of them down by hand. The tool (very originally named 'Terminator') would store user-defined pattern for the path of the executable (like 'c:\development\your-project-name\debug') and on demand kill all the processes with that pattern in their path. It is a tray-based app. Currently, it's a dialog-based, but I could re-work it to look however you like. Frankly, I think that it is a bigger project that you have categorized it ('Very Small Business Project'), but I would very much want to enter RentACoder 'rated' circle, so I am bidding $100.00. (And silently hope for a bonus). Attached, for your review, is a zipped executable of my 'Terminator'. You have to select 'Configure' from the tray menu, and select 'Expert' mode - that will let you change the default pattern (pre-set to '\build\' - protection from the QA people). This mode adds a combobox with the history of your preferences. When you hit 'Del' in that combobox, all processes will be displayed. Be careful - you could accidentally kill almost all of them. Of course, nothing that a reboot would not fix... As you see, the core is already complete. I would only need to update GUI to your specs, and I am a GUI expert, so that will not take long. Hope to win your bid. Also, my tool is a single exe file, so I would like to ask you to drop your 'Installation Package' requirement, if possible. Best regards, Vladimir Feinstein
