Description:
This program will allow people to send files to other people - files that are too large for email attachments, etc. It will act as a very basic peer-to-peer win32 file transfer application, and will work as a browser plugin.
When a person wants to send a file, he puts in the email address of the person he wants to send it to. That person then gets a link to a page to download that file, and then loads the page and the application starts and downloads the file to his computer, directly from the sender's computer.
It will be like a DCC file transfer. But it will be really easy for the client to use because it will just be a browser plugin.
The system should be secure and be able to take advertising.
More detail will be given to the successful bidder.
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
All windows platforms

Dear software buyer,
While our current project is in final testing and deployment state we are looking for new interesting internet projects.
We are the team of software engineers, we work for leading internet service provider JSC 'Infocentr'.
We have successfuly completed several projects on RAC.
Your project is interesting to us, because we were planning on writing simular applicaion for hundreds of your broad-band internet customers.
We've reviewd you bid, and 'brain-stormed' it.
We have slightly different vision on this project than yours:
There should be three parts of the system:
1. Single exe local HTTP Server application that can accept range http header for User that is sending file(s)
Receving user may not have any special application and will be able to download the file from senders computer directly with any sort of httpclient (or ReGet sort of software)
2. Browser plugin/standalone exe (with ad place) for faster, more reliable multi-socket download, (even for cases where link is lost and IP address of sender has changed)
3. Your server for registering unique transfers' IDs and IP addresses of senders. So user trying to get the file will be able to get sender's current IP address and start/resume download.
We propose to have several application's modes simple and advanced, to solve problems with NATed addresses and firewalls.
We are very open to discuss variants.
This bid amount is for simple system with one server application that will be able to send e-mails with links to itself so, receiving party can download the file w/o any special software.
Time frame for more advanced system should be about 2-2,5 months. and the bid amount will be different.
We will be glad to work on this project.
Best regards,
Denis Zabavchik Chief of the software development department ISP 'Infocentr' Kurgan, Russia |
