Description:
Background:
I have a text file which is getting generated from Pabx telephone system through an SMDR connected to a serial port, and a program running on that PC to capture data. The data are being captured daily and saved to a text file, I can set that it save on daily or weekly or monthly basis.
My Requirement:
I need a program to read the data from the text file and import them to a database(Access or SQL)right now I am using Access 2000 db. So I need it to be a form that has the option to select the text file and then starts to upload the data in the table which has been created by me previously with specific fields( I will provide the table with fields to you)I need also to have the option of importing the data from text file in both options manually and automatically by schedulling it; for example the text file is created in the begging of each month and finished in the end of each month by 00:00:00 time, and by time 00:00:01 a new text file for the new month is generated.
Because the data is captured from PABX telephone system the data in the text dosn't keep the same format in the file; so you have to be aware of that.
The form should include a progress bar to show how much of data is imported from text file to database.
I already developed a project to read data from database so I need this import form to go in my project .
The tricky thing about the text file that it sometime don't keep its format for example if I have date 22/12/2003 then space then time 03:45:50 sometimes it shows without space 22/1:45:50 which concatenated both date and time togather because of a lot of data it receives frequently, so you have to be aware program it relatively. Also when a text file is imported and the data is db the program should make a check and not to re-enter the same duplicate data again in db, also if text file is imported then it should say so by a message box or a check that the text file is already imported to db do you want to import it again!! or something like that.
Deliverables:
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
4) the software should be develped in Visual Basic 6.0
5) It should support Access 2000,Access 2002 and Sql databases.
Platform:
It should work on win98 and win2000 win ME and win XP
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
Feb 15, 2003 EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.

Is the PABX system from Siemens ? I have developed a similer system to capture data from siemens epabx. In this case u dont need to keep text file. It captures data from the port directly into a database. This program is developed in 2 parts, one for capturing data and other is to print reports. I am bidding here for data capturing module. If interested we can discuss it in detail.
