Dear 'PowerBuilder,'
In Visual Basic, it is not possible for VB to directly communicate with the hardware layer of Windows, so what you're asking for will require another language, such as C++, though the application itself can be created in VB to control the ActiveX.
As for splitting data, etc, this is a function I have already started about a week ago and expect that the control itself should be ready by month's end at the very latest which supports:
Audio CD
Data CD
ISO Read/Write
Data Archiving (Split)
Internal Compression
please note: Splitting Video images is physically done, however it is not supported by playback - if this is a feature you're wanting, video editing is also required to create new headers and keys in the second half of the file.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free. Thanks for your time and take care!
