Description:
PHONE SUPPORT HELP NEEDED (U.S. RESIDENTS ONLY)

** DO NOT BID IF YOU ARE NOT IN THE UNITED STATES, YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME AND MINE - I REPEAT... DO NOT BID IF YOU ARE NOT IN THE U.S. **

(when reading this please bear in mind that mac osX is COMPLETLEY unix based - 100% pure, real unix)

I'm looking for a patient and kind person located in the united states who is willing to provide me with phone support to help me learn unix, php, sql, etc...

I'm a quick learner when i'm taught what i want to know, but cannot learn well from books and taking classes takes too long and is boring.

I have a mac osX server up and running (100% unix based) with apache serving the web, php & sql are enabled.

your bid should be your hourly rate for phone support. for instance - if you bid $10 you're saying you'll give me help desk support for $10 per hour we are on the phone. if you say $25 you're saying you'd give me help desk support for $25 per hour, etc... There are a few things you need to know:

1. I'll guarantee you at least 2 hours a month minimum payments even if i don't use that much

2. hours don't roll over, so if i pay for 2 hours one month and don't use them they are gone forever but you keep the money

3. I'll guarnatee a 3 month minimum so that's 6 total hours of guaranteed work

4. i'll pay the first 2 hours up front when the auction closes.

5. calls will be billed in 6 minute increments. here's what that means:
- a one minute call counts for 6 minutes
- a 7 minute call counts as 12 minutes, etc...

6. i will cover the cost of all calls and provide you with a toll free number to reach me any time i cannot call you directly

7. i expect priority, prompt and courteous service. i don't expect you to be at my beck and call but i do expect quick, courteous service.

8. you MUST be know these things though and through and be an expert or i reserve the right to fire you and look for someone else.

(CONTINUED IN THE "DELIVERABLES" SECTION)

Deliverables:
9. i'm willing to pay emergency rates and expect you to be available at odd hours - for instance, lets say you bid $30/ hour but i need help at 3am - i would be willing to pay a minimum charge for emergency service plus a higher hourly rate.

10. Once i decide on someone i'll start a new bid request that details everything in writing as far as the final agreement.

11. Any coding you help me work on, finish or otherwise take part in becomes my property and i completley own it and all distribution rights to it.

12. I will provide a $100 bonus to anyone that can help me figure out why i cannot create a bootable norton utilities cd for osX. I can easily create bootable cd's, but not one that has a working copy of norton utillities.

- Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased or anything we work on together, etc...

The mininum bid is $100, but my rate would be $25/hr.

I have experience as a unix sysadmin. That mean I have worked on various flavors, such as Linux, HP-UX, Solaris, MacOSx, and windows. I am very familiar with installing, configuring and troubleshooting ssoftware, predominately opensource software. My experience is that MacOSX is not really true unix, it's Mac's attempt at a unix, but that is my opinion and am very willing to debate. Anyway, I have background in networking and programming, also. Most of my work on RAC involves PHP, Mysql, c programming and perl. I have beeen told that I am a great teacher as I have tutored people on using their computer many times.

If you give me an idea of the sort of projects you are looking to complete, I could give you some general answers before you accept the bid. This would give both of us an idea if this is a good fit.
All work will be completed within deadline.
