Description:
My client needs an MS Access 2000 database to track an inventory of complex industrial parts. Each part belongs to one of 35 categories. There are a number of descriptor fields (12) for each part. In addition, some parts, depending on category, will have additional descriptor fields specific to that particular category. This will apply to less than 5 of the categories. The database should also track, for each part, the quantity on hand, the quantity the client has on order, and the quantity reserved for sale.
In addition to parts, the database needs to track customers, vendors, and manufacturers.
The database also needs to track images for each part in one of three formats (BMP, GIF, JPG). The databse should allow for multiple images per inventory item.
Key Functionality:

The program requires good search functionality. The primary challenge for the client is to qucikly identify a part in inventory. The program should have the capability to search on any given field or combination of fields for parts.
Provide an intuitive mechanism to add/change/delete/ inventory items.
Provide an intuitive mechanism to add or delete images.
Images should be stored outside of the database to improve performance and save space (open to other suggestions).
Provide a mechanism to add/change/delete the following:
customers
vendors
manufacturers
categories
part locations
part models
part names
Design an Order Form to allow users to create an order from existing inventory parts and then allow the user to print the order with all of the pertinent customer and part details.
Deliverables:
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.

The Northwind Database delivered with MS Access can be used as a base starting point if needed.
