Description:
Hi, looking to have a program written to run in a windows environment. It would operate like a process with no visible presence except for a small icon in the notification area (bottom right of the task bar). This can be clicked on for options, but essentially the program does the following;
While browsing, it blocks pop-ups (unless this is turned off), unless the shift key is held down while the link is clicked.
Ctrl will be another 'hotkey' saving the image clicked on to a defined directory (which will be encrypted / hidden / password protected - that sort of thing).
Shift and ctrl save the target of the item clicked on (designed for audio files from links or video files).
Shift-Ctrl-Q closes ALL open internet explorer windows OR ALL programs & loads a program of choice (eg. makes screen go blank instantly a number of times while closing (using refresh, or by changing the screen mode, and then changing it back), then returns error about opening a ficticious game for example), then deletes all history, tempory files and autocompletes.
The program will ultimately be password protected, so to launch it you'd need to go to run, then enter your password as a parameter on the command line, otherwise an error would result.
Would have one or two extras...favourites that can't be stored in ie favourites....
These can all be added in time and over verious releases. The basic idea is the pop-up stopper, combined with the image / target saving functions.
There's no deadline on the work, so if anyone is interested in working with me on this then please let me know.
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
Windows XP, but backwards compatable (as far as 98 or 95 in time).
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
Jun 1, 2003 EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Special Conditions / Other:
For the first versions this is only designed for internet explorer. Other browsers can be added later. And it will also have restrictions unless a registration key is purchased.
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
If you notice a violation please help out the site and report it. Thanks for your help.

I will gladly work with you on this project. I can make something that sits in the system tray and has a command that kills ALL open internet explorer windows/downloads at the same time and then launch a coverup program of your choice (like solitaire,pinball,whatever...). I'm not sure about making the pop-up blocker part, but i'm pretty sure I can do that too. Ill get a working demo to you asap. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have. Keep in mind that this isn't a bid in a can and I really work 1-on-1.
Thanks, Thomas ;) |
