Description:
Description [LicenseMaster Project]:
The LicenseMaster Client software generates registration codes for each registered edition of the Controlled Application. The Second Tier Admin can then issue licenses simply by filling in the End User's details on the LicenseMaster registration form and a unique registration code is generated.
When a End User installs the Controlled Application and runs it for the first time they will be asked for this code, which is then checked over a secure connection against the codes in the LicenseMaster Database to make sure that it's valid. It is marked as issued in the LicenseMaster database so that it can't be re-used. This allows Admins to keep a difinitive record of all licenses issued, and gives complete control over who can install the Controlled Application.
The LicenseMaster system also allows reseller demonstration licenses, license replacement for legitimate reinstallations, and limited duration end-user trial licenses.
Additional tiers of resellers can be supported, allowing resellers to issue licenses and their billing information for licenses issued to be available to First and Second Tier Admins, so that they know which reseller has issued which licenses and therefore how much to to bill each reseller. Resellers have individual log-ons and end-user registration forms so that detailed records are ensured while keeping resellers and second tier admins compartmentalized.
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.

Little question. Does the 'LicenseMaster Client' query the mySQL database everytime to check if the code is valid? If not, how will the Client determine if the Client app is licensed and check its validity?
I cna easily do the OCX/Bas code to check the validity of the given registration code. The mySQL server wud be queried. I wud suggest using a PHP script instead of querying the mySQL database directly. The registration code verification process cna be carried out using SSL secure connection to a PHP script on the server side that handles mYSQL access.
Why a direct mySQL connection is not desired is because of security reasons and code size reasons. mySQL interaction will require quite a lot of coding that might not be desirable to 'Client' end program. Also firewall restrictions may not allow to connect to mySQL directly.
I can do a prototype solution in 2 weeks and provide you with the final solution in another one more week.
The details have to be gone through in more detail though.
Also I will be available for contact via email, msn and yahoo messengers atleast 7 hours a day.
I will quote a price if the above is ok with you. |
